User Property and Finance Team (UPFT)

The Care and Support (Charging and Assessment of Resources) Regulations 2014 and subsequent Care and Support Statutory guidance sets out how a local authority may arrange care and support to meet a person’s eligible need. 

The team carry out financial assessments, including obtaining and verifying information related to Disability Related Expenditure for service users who access eligible social care services. UPFT officers provide advice and support to assist with the maximisation of income and are involved with managing service users' finances as required by statute. 

In addition, the team will arrange as appropriate public health funerals, protection of properties, and boarding of pets, when there are no other persons available to carry out the role.
